A Monster Tragedy by Joshua William Gelb
Inspired by the article "Through His Webcam, a Boy Joins a Sordid World" by Kurt Eichenwald & The Lulu Plays by Frank Wedekind
"I look at a lot of porn now. It's better somehow, than finding anything real."
Plot Summary:
Equal parts fact and fiction, Lulu.com chronicles the sexual exploits of Luka, a fourteen year old boy from the Garden State suburbs, who with a webcam and the screen name "Lulu" crosses over into a nightmare world of pornographers, pedophiles and prostitutes. With a growing list of older men literally dying for his affection and an obsessed reporter doggedly following his trail, Luka must fight to survive in an electronic age where innocence is, ever more, a fast diminishing commodity.
Inspired by the startling research of New York Times reporter Kurt Eichenwald and the notorious Lulu plays by Frank Wedekind, this grotesque and epic tragedy explores the horrifying, lurid, and strangely comic underbelly of child pornography.
